Consumer Culture Visualized

Photographer Chris Jordan figured, correctly I think, that people generally have a difficult time grasping the significance of large numbers. Reasoning in a way similar to the folks at the MegaPenny Project, Jordan decided to illustrate various stats related to Unitedstatesian consumer behavior by actually showing stuff in the relevant quantities.
